Guys,
One of my FAVORITE sites is Hulu.com. You can watch movies and old TV shows on there. Anyway, I was watching an episode of Adam 12, and there was a great, truthful line spoken between Reed & Malloy. After calming a young lady who fell for a lothario, the following dialogue takes place.
Reed: "You know, Malloy, for a guy who's not married, you sure read dames well."
Malloy: "How do you think I stayed single for so long?" That was spoken with a wry, knowing smile...

Yes, most young men have no idea what TV shows were like back in the 60's. They reflected the popular culture at the time and jokes like that were common.
More importantly, they also reflected things like a wife sticking with her husband through thick and thin. I was just watching on YouTube the first two episodes of Green Acres. A comedy, but still the wife promises to try out farm life for 6 months and she sticks to it, even though the farm is a dump.
Granted it was a comedy, but can you imagine a plot like that today? The wife follows her husband and leaves a fairy tale penthouse on Park Avenue in New York to live in a dump? And she sticks to it because she says she loves him.
Today, she would have been divorced long before the farm was even bought.

Malloy: "How do you think I stayed single for so long?"
Great line!
Not all men are fools --- some are bachelors!
