Traffic Stops

Guys,

While searching for something else, I stumbled across the video you're about to watch.  Though I don't smoke pot, I found the most of the information useful.  Though you may never haul drugs in your car, you may haul a gun or something else deemed to be illegal.  For example, you may live in a very blue state like NJ.  You buy a rifle or pistol at a gun show in Virginia or other nearby state, and you bring it back.  By crossing into NJ with the gun, you've committed an illegal act.  The question is this: how do you not get caught?  Barry Cooper, former law enforcement officer and maker of the video, will show you how to remain free.

Now, the video will take about an hour and a half (1.5 hours).  I would encourage you to view the whole thing; it's time well spent.  You don't have to watch it all in one sitting; you can view a topic or two at a time as Mr. Cooper covers them.  IOW, you can either view this in one sitting, or do it in multiple sittings.  However you watch the video, please, WATCH THE VIDEO!  The life you save may be your own.  Now, on to the video...

Good stuff, huh?  Only here at MarkyMark's place can you find useful information!  Have a good day now...

I watched it all without stopping except to repeat when I didn't understand anything. Great Video. Lots of good advice.

Anon71,

Given how Amerika is becoming a police state with Nazi wannabes as cops, this is good stuff to know...

Note that I am very risk averse. Which means I don't use nor have a stash. In fact when I have Mexican antibiotics with me, but am going to travel across the US, I leave those antibiotics at home, though it would be nice to have them with me, (save an ER visit if I get sick) because I don't want a cop to find them and say I had prescription drugs without a prescription, and take my car.

Nor do I drive even 1 mph over the speed limit, to avoid giving them probable cause to stop me.

That hasn't stopped skin head cops from stopping me twice with no probable cause whatsoever, first in Mississippi, in 2007, then in 2009 in KY. In both cases, they simply made up lies to justify the stop. They are evil and engaged in criminal activity. I guess I am from the old school, traitors to the Constitution should be summarily executed.

However, there were other issues of value in this video. For example, just how willing they are to perjure themselves.

If you have some knowledge of court and police procedure, you might have noted what he was doing when he said the people have a right to leave after the ticket is written. Did you think anyone who had been stopped would know that? I sure don't. Maybe he somehow forgot to mention it to them? Hee, hee.

He made it sound ordinary that he would first legally give them the right to leave, though he didn't tell them that, and then ask for consent to search.

And, then in another place, he said if a person refused consent he'd call on the radio and bring down a whole group of cops including the dogs to attempt to find probable cause to search.

So, he was apparently lying or at least bending the truth when he said they had the right to leave after the ticket was written.

But, in court, or on seizure documents, he was clearly committing perjury, IMO.

Okay, so he's repentant NOW. But with a steady supply of gung-ho skin heads to take his place, it does us no good for him to repent.

I am glad he is now repentant. But, his replacements are out there doing the same thing.

My view is affected by several things. In the 70's, in Criminal Justice classes, I learned that marijuana is not at all harmful, if uncontaminated by drug dealers who want to hook you on something stronger. I also learned that marijuana was first viewed as dangerous at the end of Prohibition when the liquor industry spent millions of dollars to propagandize the evils of marijuana, simply to stiff the low priced competition.

And, over the years, as false claims were disproven one by one, the claims would change. A few years ago those claims were down to "May cause change in brain neurons."

then when that was disproven, the claims went back to "turns you into a raging killer" again.

The latest B.S. is, "Well, the new genetically modified marijuana is different and dangerous." Enough already.

There are two real problems with marijuana. First, the stuff is illegal, and that can really screw you up if caught.

Plus the stuff is illegal which means you may get it laced with every horrid substance you can imagine. If you could get it USP, as far as I can tell, it is not harmful. I could write more including two major studies which showed it to be harmless.

71,

I do what he says to do in the video-drive normally, i.e. like everyone else. Since most folks are doing 70-75 on the local interstates where I live, that's what I do too. What I DON'T do is: 1) drive a lot faster than everyone else; and 2) weave in & out of traffic like a madman. I haven't been stopped in about two years.

It also helps that I have a car that doesn't attract much unwelcome attention. I have a Nissan Altima, a car that's as bread & butter as they come. If I had a fire engine red Mustang GT, the cops might notice me more; I knew a gal who had a fire engine red Camaro, and she said it was a cop magnet. Since I have a plain vanilla family sedan, no one notices me. I think I could attract the attention of cops if I did 20-30 or more over the limit, but any less than that they won't notice. Plus, I keep everything in working order, just like he says...

But yeah, I've known for a long time that cops can lie to trick you into telling them stuff. I did NOT know about how you were free to leave after the cops write you the warning or ticket; then again, I never had one ask to search my car after receiving one, either. I also didn't know about how dogs can be induced to doing false alert, so an unscrupulous cop can say that he has probable cause to search.

What was also good to learn was how cops decide to stop you, i.e. the profiling that they do. Reducing the number of reasonable suspicions that get the cops' interest is good to know also...

71,

Even if you follow the speed limits, the cops can always say you bobbled the line, i.e. made them wonder if you'd been drinking. Then, they can stop you. Even if you did it by accident, you've given them cause to stop you.

A good trick to keeping your car centered in the lane is to try to put your right foot (gas pedal foot) over the center of the road. That was a trick I learned in my CDL class from years ago...

The night I was stopped in Mississippi, we were driving to meet my son in Virginia. He was driving the same direction on a northern route. I called him after they false stopped me, and he said the Arkansas cops false stopped him, and that was the lie they used, that he wobbled. They are ****ing liars, and if we are going to continue as a nation, those swine must be taken down.

Let me restate that. If we continue as a nation, something I do not find likely, they WILL be taken down. The nation cannot continue as it is, for many reasons, including cops who are vicious criminals.

I did note that they said they suspect someone if he is driving carefully, may be a money carrier. So, driving legally makes you suspicious? Bravo Sierra.

Anyway, that and the Texas plates may have been their reason for the false stop. They are vicious criminals and traitors to their oath.

But, there is one advantage of driving 0 over. When they false stop me, I know it. The normal person does get stopped once in a while when driving 3 over and assumes it is for speeding. I read their tales on Car Talk, and they assumed they were stopped for 3 over. Did you notice he told several people they were doing 68 in a 65 zone?

So, they are basically saying what O. is saying. The Constitution is dead and we are going to do whatever we want to do. And, if you do not accept it, we TASER you or maybe kill you.

I no longer drive after dark in the US. And, I will continue to drive 0 over. And, when they stop me, I will write a letter to that state HP commissioner as I did in KY.

But, for the most part my solution is GTHO. This crap doesn't happen in Mexico. If they stop you, twenty dollars in pesos will get you out of it, even if you actually did something wrong. They do not try to steal your car.

I am far more afraid of the cops in the US than in Mexico, and I have been driving in Mexico for at least ten years, and maybe 50,000 miles.

Let me make it clear. When they say you wobbled, that has nothing to do with you having wobbled. They are simply lying, knowing few have a video camera aimed out the front of the car. When they accused my son of wobbling in Arkansas, his wife was awake and alert, and said he was totally stable.

They simply decide to stop you, and fake an excuse which has nothing to do with reality. This nation cannot continue.

In MS, they said, well, they weren't sure, but thought maybe possibly perhaps I hadn't moved over a lane away from the rental truck they almost certainly also false stopped. I live in a state where not moving over is a serious offense, and they were lying trying to justify their false stop.

And, when he approached the car after he stopped me, he gave a mighty tug on my back hatch, the whole car shook. It took me a while, several days, of thinking before I realized if that hatch had come open, he'd have dropped in a bag of pot and stolen my car. There was no legal reason to open that rear hatch without permission or probable cause.

Now that I'm debt free, I may expat to Peru. Lima is a vibrant, modern city with loads of opportunity. And, there appears to be more freedom than there is here...
