TV Is Going Ever More Matriarchal

Guys,

Before I get into the meat of this post, let me say this: life is returning to normal for me, and the worst of the estate business is behind us.  My brother and I have been able to move along on the estate business quickly.  In fact, we've already sold the house, and we did so in less than ten days!  Barring any legal or financial snags, closing will be next month.  Anyway, that means I'm getting my life back, which means time for posting.

What I really wanted to talk about was how blatantly MATRIARCHAL TV has gotten.  I was watching the NASCAR race at Loudon, NH today (first race I've watched in months, BTW) when the predictable commercials and TV show promos came on.  There was one show being promoted that, as far as I could tell, had all FEMALE characters; they were all women!  There were no main, male characters I could see in the promo.  The show was called Political Animals, and it's on the USA Network.

Back in the day, USA Network had some unique shows on; they had stuff on that no one else had, which made them worth watching.  One of my favorites was Silk Stalkings, which I think originally ran on CBS, but I can't be sure; other than sporting events, I haven't watched network TV like CBS in ages.  Another favorite show of mine on USA Network was Pacific Blue, which was about bike cops in Santa Monica, California.  Unfortunately, that show jumped the shark after the third season; though there were some good story lines in seasons four & five, the show was never quite the same once they changed over half the characters.  Even so, Pacific Blue was a unique show that I enjoyed.

Then, over the years, USA Network changed; they no longer had the unique fare that had set them apart back in the 1990s.  I don't know exactly when, where, or how it happened; all I know is that, after 2000 or so, I just stopped watching their programming; they had nothing that I wanted to watch anymore.  When I recently read the Wiki on USA Network, I found that there had been a change of ownership around the time I stopped watching them.

Anyway, they have this new show coming on.  I think it's new; either that, or it's a new season.  When I saw the promo for it during the commercial break for my race, I was like wow, why would I even want to watch that crap?  They have some old crones starring it, one of whom is Sigourney Weaver.  Even when she was younger and more attractive, I couldn't stand her; she was a bitch back in the day, and she's a bitch now.  Only now that she's an old crone, she's even more, er, 'charming' than she was back when she starred in Working Girl, circa 1989.

Oh, because there will be some money left over from Ma's estate, I'll be able to pay off my house-yes!  Since that would leave me some extra money each month, I thought about upgrading my standard of living while also saving for my future.  I'm going to take half the extra money and save it, while upgrading my standard of living with the other half.

One of the ways I thought about upgrading my standard of living was to get a flat screen TV along with a cable or satellite hookup for it.  After seeing the promos for the new shows this fall, I don't know; I don't know that I'm missing anything by not having a TV at all.  I had a TV, but I gave it to Ma because I never USED the damn thing!  The things that I really want to see are available online, such as the racing.  If I want to watch QUALITY TV programs, then I can go to Hulu.com; that site has the old, classic TV shows that were, unlike today's trash, actually worth watching.  I watched a couple of seasons of Adam-12 & Emergency! on that site-good, uplifting programming that showed men being men.  I think I might be better off getting a bike or scooter with my extra cash.  Either that, or I could start taking trips to Central & South America to meet some nice, hot women down there.  I'll have more to say about that in an upcoming post...

In closing, TV, from the looks of it, has gone totally matriarchal.  They don't even make a pretense of catering to men anymore-none!  Since there's nothing for me to watch on there, why get a TV, let alone a cable or satellite hookup for the damn thing?!  Seriously, why bother watching it?  The races are increasingly available online; sites like Hulu & Netflix carry TV shows and movies.  To see things that appeal to me, I don't need a TV.  No wonder why TV and the rest of the old media are dying!  Until next time...

You are absolutely right. Haven't cut the cable completely but did down grade to basic-basic. Mainly view Me TV - old shows. Only kind I can enjoy anymore. The new stuff is pretty much all trash.

I agree about the need for cable- don't need it. Only thing I'd really want is to watch wrestling, so I'd need 2 channels, and whose gonna sell a package w/ only two channels?
But yeah, Netflix is enough (and cheap as dirt, too), and I... 'acquire' movies via the internet, so it's really nice to hook up the laptop and have a big screen.
And video games, but I'm finding less and less time for those these days.

This is because 1. The vast majority of TV and movies are produced by Leftists & 2. Women are the majority of people watching television.

Besides broadcast sports and a few shows, TV viewers are women, women, women. Men are playing video games / on the Internet instead.

TV is a passive medium, and obviously, those of us with a passive streak (and an extra X chromosome) are going to be catered for (how much more female does it get than to be 'catered for'?).

Men are active. That means entertaining ourselves. Get that bike, yacht, parachute, video game or kayak. Order the shows you like, and watch them in your own time.

TV is for girls, and even the TV companies aren't hiding it. Also probably the number one way to grow the size of ones arse.

You could just hook up that nice big screen to a computer and watch hulu on that thing or buy your old series on DVD. Got my eye on the complete Magnum P.I. set for example ;)

We don't have a TV. Don't want it, don't need it, think it's a waste of time. We keep the computer in the office and sometimes I watch movies made by Jane Austen novels, and such like. I really prefer to keep the computer out of the girls' sight - the moment they see it, they want it! I prefer them outside, running barefoot among chickens or playing with mud, or playing with their blocks or lego or puzzles inside, or we read stories together. I'm getting a bit sidetracked but my point is, TV is just a time-consuming monster for people whose brains are too tired for real life! If we had extra money, probably we'd use it for a lovely trip to some place we've always wanted to see, or for home improvement, or my husband would get a new(er) car.

tvland.com has a some of the old shows available on their site to watch for free Mark.

Also, you might be surprised to find that a good many of the old tv shows can be found on youtube as complete episodes. Lately I've been watching full episodes of Gunsmoke.

Cut the cord, man. There is nothing of value on television. You can get sports via other means.

I stopped wasting time with TV long ago, in favor of enjoying my favorite passtimes, some of which involve women but they are there to improve my life.

My TV is connected to a HTPC on which I have things I like to watch - Game of Thrones, etc - on my schedule, since I have all of my DVDs, CDs, and other media digitized this keeps me from having my time wasted with the drivel that is network TV.

Men do not have to deal with the feminized media and programming - technology gives men control. Makes my life much better, and women in my life know they are there to keep me happy. If they aren't doing that why would I waste my valuable time on them?

Michael's right. Go Hulu or do what I do: buy the complete Frasier, Magnum, Barney Miller, Kojak, Odd Couple, Yes Minister, Fawlty Towers...and recognize that we are in a media period similar to what the auto industry went through in the 1970s: we make shitty cars.

Today we make shitty TV for stupid bitches because they control 80% of the disposable money today, and the advertisers want to lick their pussies until their wallets open up.

Married men watch a lot of TV, because they can't do anything else without a big fight with the Giant Whale who tells them what to do every day.

Mark, use the tv to watch dvds and video games, drop the cable, and you live in an area where I'm sure there are lots of on air channels. Good thing you are able to pay off your house. Be sure you have the title. Banks sold many mortgage backed "securities" and tried to re-possess homes they didn't even own to cover their Ponzie scheme.

I wonder how many women will be "interested in YOU" once they find out you have clear title to a home, even though you would have wanted your mother around for a few more years. Cheers!

sestamibi said...

Maybe not a good idea to pay off the mortgage on your house with the proceeds and lose all that liquidity (I'm assuming the estate isn't big enough to require payment of inheritance taxes).

What I would recommend is that you pay the principal part of your mortgage payment from the proceeds each month, and the interest part from your current income.

MarkyMark said...

Sestamibi,

No, I'm paying off the mortgage, because I LOVE the idea of being debt free; I love it! I'm going to save half the extra money I'm no longer paying out, while using the other half to increase my standard of living.

I'm a passive woman in front of...internet! I watch television very less often than some years ago.
I remember Magnum! When I was a child I watched Magnum on TV.
I guess I've been watching some 'male' shows without knowing they are male ones!
And many times what I see on TV and cinema goes to one side of my head and goes out of another side of my head. Hollywood hasn't been successful in brainwashing me with Feminazi indoctrination. I'm too numb, dumb and airheaded for such change.

I don't watch TV and I haven't missed TV in 10 years.If I want to watch something or just out of curiousity (like Jersey Shore to see what it was) I'll just watch it on the Net on Tube or someplace.
What you should do is get a really good computer with a large screen. You could play the DVD if you wanted to rent one on the PC. Get some good powered speakers.

Marky, you can just as easily go to Europe from NJ as S America for the same cost. Try Bulgaria on the Black Sea in summer. It's suuny and DRY unlike NJ lol And then go over to Istanbul and Turkey if you haven't. I think you'll be very surprised. There's also a lot of Russian and other girls in these places.
In S America you may like Chile or Argentina if you like it more European.

South of Brazil (Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul states) is the most european region of Brazil and is more ethnically diversified. That's where I live. And I think it's much better than Eastern Europe and Southeast Asia for that very reason: here you can find Japanese Brazilians, South Korean Brazilians, Chinese Brazilians, Italian Brazilians, German Brazilians, Russian Brazilians, Polish Brazilians, Ukranian Brazilians, Spaniard Brazilians, Lebanese Brazilians, Syrian Brazilians, plus some Latin Americans.
Why going to Eastern Europe and Southeast Asia if you can find a little United Nations in the South of Brazil?

I don't have cable, but a high speed internet connection. Last summer, I bought 47" LED TV that is 3D capable. Interesting documentaries on Youtube and Netflix is accessible. DVD's are cheap at times.

Anyway, what I'm saying is get the big flat screen TV and watch your own stuff.

Like Carnivore, I like ME TV. I watch The Rifleman when I get home from work. And sometimes the original Batman series from the 60's. And that's about it. I cut my cable TV long ago. And get about 40 to 50 channels over the air with an old large TV antenna in my attic. Many are hi def. Yes, you can get hi def channels with an antenna. My TV has both ATSC and QAM tuners built in. Anyway, I can't stand TV anymore. The content and the commercials just drive me insane. So I have found other, more useful, things to do. Record my music. Or read blogs and ebooks.

I don't know if that's because I'm feeling tense right now (that was too good to be true to be free from pain muscle tension for so many weeks) but I didn't get to read Bechdel test text. I mean I'm so tired of this genders battle... I wonder when this feminist obsession with female issues in every sector of life and society will ever end... When will men and women get along well decently both respecting each other differences, similarities, complementarities and individualities?
I don't waste my time and energy thinking wether there is lack of female leading roles on movies...

Brazilian Woman.

Anonymous said...

Futrelle's "girls" are not normal women and are the bitter low IQ types which is why they'll make up these retarded words like "cis" (a normal person) or use words that they don't understand the meaning of in some convoluted comment to make themselves look "smart". I guess that these lower class cretins believe that if they're confusing enough people will be fooled into thinking they're clever lol
These "girls" are just plain dumb and can't even figure out that films are a commercial money making business that must appeal to a laege audience or the film co. will go out of business. If films with a lot of females interacting was commercially viable then filmmakers would be making these types of films, but they're not. Normal females don't even want to watch films where a bunch of cackling hens sit around bitching about life in a childish manner. Normal females only like films where there are men, especially Alpha men,who are in the lead role and where the actresses are trying to nab him as a bf or husband which are about the only real interests that a female has in life anyway.
Even minor films made for a niche audience couldn't make any money if the entire film was just about a bunch of dykes bitching about the usual dyke nonsense, like finding a good strap-on, sex change operations or where to buy testosterone patches :o)

You are partially right. Not all women are like Futrelle girls. However women are smart enough to be interested in many different issues, raising a family is just one of theirs. I want to raise a family of course, but I'm also interested in politics and Arts. If I were man I would be very bored being surrounded by dumb women. And I know there are many kinds of men as there are many kinds of women. Each one is free to choose his/her ideal romantic partner.

Anonymous said...

BW, this was about what sort of films people like to watch and therefore make money for the film co.
People, both male and female, just do not find films with females interacting to be very interesting regardless of whether they're talking about politics, family or anything else. Females are simply not as interesting as male characters and are pretty much clones of each other regardless of how smart or clever they think they are. They lack humour and are generally boring no matter what the subject is.There is a lot less variation and originality in their characters.Perhaps Nature intended it this way because the female's primary job was to care for offspring and you really don't have to be too clever around a 2 yo.

Anonymous said...

Anonymous 23 July,

You are free to express your opinion as I'm free to express mine. Female/male characters... individual is what really matters. I'm sure if America wasn't a matriarcal society due to Feminism you American men would have a very different opinion about women.
My American ex - boyfriend is the exception that confirms the rule. He likes chatting with his girlfriend and he respects women intelligence, that's a quality he has got I respect and admire a lot. The rule: after reading so many times some different MRM blogs and foruns the majority (of course not all men are like) of Anglo Saxon men can't believe women can think and have a decent conversation.
It's not by chance I like to be around smart intellectual nerd men. I'm free to be myself beside them and I would never be either friend or a girlfriend/wife of a man who think I'm idiot just because I'm a woman. At least in Brazil I'm free to be myself, I guess in USA I wouldn't.
B. W.
PS.: What kind of woman are you Anonymous talking about? From which country, mainland and culture? From which time?
Only Anita Garibaldi could be the perfect woman of Giuseppe Garibaldi's and not somebody else. Anita Garibaldi was a Brazilian Heroin, she was born in the same state as I was born, Santa Catarina. Giuseppe Garibaldi was an Italian Hero of the Italian Unification. Just check out about both historical characters on internet. Women can be as fascinating as men.

Without sme sort of sexual attraction men wouldn't even bother with females. That's the only "fascination" a female has for a man. I'm not a nerd and it's debatable whether I'm an intellectual lol whatever that means but I hold a degree in medicine and another advanced degree and know a great many females from various countries. Most of them are what you would view as young but they all have what would be at least a Masters in the US, a couple doctorates and a couple more M.D.'s at ages 22-23 so I don't think any of them are dumb. Most of them are not American and are from the East, have traveled to many places and have a fairly high level of sophistication and knowledge while still retaining a degree of innocence. It may be amusing to be with them but I don't take their judgement or opinions seriously on any matter perhaps because I'm 2x their ages or more.
Older females?They become more annoying and boring with age. Females all lose anything that was appealing when they were young with age especially most of the good personality traits they may have had.They seem to lose a lot of their intellect as well by their late 20's and become a lot less "fascinating" as you put it.Females really aren't very diffenent in their basic natures in different areas of the world and there are acceptible fenmales in the US but uS laws and customs will easily bring out the worst in them although personally I don't really have any problems with US women but then I'm not really dealing with the same types the average man has to deal with and I'm also a bachelor so I'm not dealing as a married man would have to.Once females have that ring on their finger they may change from what thye were when single.
Another thing, as a female you are in no position to judge what a man is looking for in a woman or what appeals to him.Men do not choose a woman based on her ability to have "intellectual" conversations him and if you think so you are deluding yourself.

Hi,

Could someone please point me in the direction of some in-depth, substantive criticism of feminism? Like a book or comprehensive essay. The only book I am aware of is "The War against Boys." That is on my reading list, but to my understanding that book discusses the feminization of boys in public schools today. What I'm looking for at the moment is more of an in-depth explanation of how it all began and the true goal/agenda of feminism. This blog is very informative in terms of eye-opening to the collateral damage (the effect) of feminism, but I am looking to understand the cause, the source, the (political?) agenda, etc.

Thank you!

Lily said...

Mark,

I ordered those books, thank you. And I spent quite a bit of time combing through unmaskingfeminism blog. It's an excellent resource and she makes no apologies for telling it like it is. From a reader comment on one of the many posts I read, I followed a link to a video. I won't post the youtube url because I don't know if your blog rejects links, but the title is "Feminism Was Created To Destabilize Society, Tax Women and set up the NWO - Aaron Russo." And it's a clip from a larger interview (Reflections and Warnings an interview with Aaron Russo), and an excellent starting point in "unmasking" the link between feminism and marxism (of which I know almost nothing, but I still understood the message). There were some jaw dropping tidbits therein: Rockefellers funded women's lib; the CIA funded Gloria Steinem's "Ms." magazine.

And you know, the thing is, my generation - actually anyone born after what? 1970? or maybe even the late 60s - we were born into this false paradigm. We've been heavily indoctrinated - weaned since day one - on the feminist narrative. I'm only starting on the path to "awakening." And I would credit some of that to the fact that I don't have a disinformation box (TV) in my living room. What does it take to wake people up? To unplug from the matrix? I think that men are more apt to wake up because you are the victims. Women are the victims too, but they cannot see it because the feminist agenda appeals to women's lower selves and not our higher selves. You could say it appeals to our shadow side (in Jungian terms). It appeals to our selfishness. And we don't SEE the cage; we see only the illusion of the "benefits" of the feminist paradigm.....

Lily said...

(cont.)
And men are waking up, but what can you do? What can you do in a system that's rigged against you, where an unlawful "legal" system paralyzes you? It cuts you off at the knees. And women don't see that it cuts US off at the knees too. And how did it get this bad? We are indoctrinated (brainwashed), but how is it that so few resist or wake up? Follow the trail even further… follow the trail to the chemicals in your food, the fluoride in your water, big pharma and its unrelenting mass medication of the population. You know in 1950, people didn't read "HFCS" and "xanthan gum" on their food labels. They weren't ingesting GMOs or meats poisoned with antibiotics, bovine growth hormones, and who knows what else. It's all very Draconian.

I'm on the path to waking up. I see it more and more. I'm becoming *aware* in my everyday interactions. Just a trip to the grocery store. It's everywhere. I see it now. Completely down-trodden men, saddled by their female counterparts. And women (mostly) are miserable. They themselves are miserable. And they're miserable toward everyone around them. Not just men, but miserable toward their children, toward everyone, toward even themselves. My internal reaction is variant, depending on my state of mind or mood at the given moment. Sometimes it makes me angry. Sometimes it does not make me angry, but rather grateful that I'm waking up. And sometimes it makes we want to walk over to these women and shake them and say "wake up!"

I don't know what the solution is. But I do believe this false paradigm will eventually end - because it's a broken system. The question is, will it be replaced by yet another false paradigm?

Lily said...

(cont.)
In my daily life, out and about, I make it a habit to smile at anyone I pass by. The response from men… I finally get it. Occasionally, my smile is met with darts emanating from the eyes. I never understood it. "He must be having a bad day." But I get now. He doesn't trust me. I'm the enemy. What does she want? Why is she smiling? He has every reason to be suspicious. But usually, I'm met with a smile in return. And now I see THAT more clearly too. He's probably thinking, "Wow, she's actually SMILING and not glaring at me?" I can see it - a dehydrated man in a desert, soaking it in like a sponge. I also now make it my practice to always say THANK YOU when a man does things, like hold the door open when I happen to arrive at a public entrance simultaneously. I don't even see women saying thank you to their husbands (or boyfriends) when they do this. They just EXPECT it. Or take it for granted.

As for the marriage license, yeah, it nails you in more ways than one. I read a powerful piece by a pastor who showed how it ensnares you. For example, somewhere out in the Midwest, a school did something a bunch of parents didn't like; they give a vaccine, took blood, something I can't quite remember. Anyway, when the parents said that the school couldn't do what they did, the school said, "Oh, yes we can! Your marriage licenses give us the authority and permission..." I'll find that and post the link later if I think of it.

Mark, it turns out Mr. Zubaty has traveled the world, written several books, and has a website (therudeguy.com) on which he has a host of podcasts available to listen to, or download in mp3 or transcript format. He reads sections from his books and then elaborates. I listened to "Podcast 52: Male versus Female Brain biology" (http://www.therudeguy.com/?p=145) which absolutely scientifically debunks the "men and women are the same and gender roles are socialization" myth. Here is one quote I jotted, instantly recognizing it to be a self-evident truth:

"Women's heads are caught inside the washing machine from hell. The one that never clicks off. It lurches from wash to rinse to spin-dry and back to wash again. Endlessly processing the outer garments of life, with detergents and fabric softeners. Desperately bleaching the threads of existence until some goofball comes along and kicks the goddamn plug out of the wall. That goofball is us [men]."

~~~~
He discusses many of other aspects of politics aside from men and women in his many podcast topics. And even some very heady, metaphysical, existential topics. Quantum mechanics. This one (transcript only) is fascinating: "I Choose Therefore I Am" (http://www.therudeguy.com/?p=632)
"On the cellular level, our level, Lazlo reports an experiment whereby cell scrapings were taken from the mouth of a subject and removed 10 kilometers away. Both the subject and his cell scrapings were hooked up to lie detectors. When the subject was shown certain shocking images (crashing planes) his lie detector registered a spike in emotion. And ten kilometers away, so did his cell scrapings. At precisely the same time…."
Mark, I just read those links. I think I'm sick to my stomach now. It even reserves a right to change the terms of the contract with no warning to the contractees, just like a credit card or phone company writes in their language:
"He added that this privilege to be regulated by statute includes all related statutes, and all court cases as they are ruled on by the courts, and all statutes and regulations into the future in the years following the commencement of the marriage."
So obviously anyone (all of us) who were issued birth certs are state "property"?…for life? I wonder if all of this is actually printed somewhere (in micro-font) on the secular license people sign or if you sign a short form and never know. I wonder if people like the Amish sign them or register the birth of their children. I'll bet it's like this in all Western countries too. The thing is, when a couple reach their twilight years and want to name each other and children in their respective wills, I wonder if they can even do so without having obtained that state license. Or are they denied that as punishment for not entering the lawless contract? Wow………
Anonymous said...
@2.04-I'd have to agree with that. Perhaps not 100% but certainly the #1 thing (the same as men) There is always some variation in what people find attraction but it's within a certain range. This nonsense called "game" can never really work because a first visual impression is the strongest factor in how people both male and female view you and judge you. In fact it is so strong that even when a person has misjudged another based on their first impression and knows that he has it may take 5 years to get that initial impression out of his head. Men and females are visual which is why films that are really just fiction for the most part have such a strong effect on people's thinking and they will believe something they've seen even though they know it was just a film. I'm sure that what females believe about violence and rape has nothing to do with reality but is just the stuff they've seen in films. This is why the media and films can be so dangerous and used as propaganda tools.
Females definately judge men on their appearance the same or even more than men do the same to females. They're just projecting their own thoughts when they accuse men of only judging them on their looks.
"Game" can never work because the female has already judged the man in 2 seconds if he doesn't fit a certain profile and eliminated him before he opens his mouth.Wealth will just make a man look better because females associate material things with their owner. If I took twins and dressed one in even causual clothes that a female would recognise as expensive and posed him by a Ferrari and took his brother and dressed him in ordinary clothes posed next to an ordinary car, the female would think the first brother was better looking.
These gamsters talk a lot about psychology but they don't know the first thing about how the female thinks and are just making stuff up that they think will get them girls. The reason that they like this game nonsense and delude themselves with it is because they believe it's something they can learn and make them an Alpha lol while looks ate something you really can't change.
No amount of "game" for example(even if they actually knew how a female thinks.They don't) is going to help a short man get a female or make them think he's an Alpha. He would need, as Real studies show, so many qualifications as far as money, job,skills etc. just to get a girl to go out with him.The 6' tall UPS driver would get a female faster so how is this game going to work?
It's also amazing that these young boys actually believe that this is some new science and guys like Roosh,Roisy, the idiot in the floppy hat etc are their gurus lol
These guys can't even get quality females themselves. The average guy who just talks to females has a better chance than they do.
Lily,
Are you the SAME person to whom I devoted a scathing post last year? She started out by calling herself Anon, then started signing with 'Lily'. Since your name, pretty though it is, is uncommon these days, I thought you might be one in the same person.
